"The Martial Artist."

This book is the first of two that specializes in the research of Koryu Bujutsu. Both of them are divided up into four parts, the first is and introduction to Gokui Soden. The second is the local ryuha of the Joshu area, and the third essays  about Japanese martial arts. This book including interviews, techniques and in-depth text supplemented by several B&W pictures, copies of scrolls and illustrations. Originally published in 1994, these books are now out of print and due to book style that it was published in (a magazine glossy) good copies are hard to find.  This book is the second of two editions. It too is divided into three parts. The first part is an introduction to the world of Koryu Bujutsu. The second contains the local ryuha of the Bushu area (Saitama). It also shows unknown Koryu Bujutsu and Sanshin Araki Ryu Hoshu and Hozoin Yari Jutsu. The third part focuses on research, with attention to Daito Ryu Aikijutsu. It explores the historical background and gives analysis of the techniques, complimented with Photos and drawings. "Japanese Kobudo". This is a book usually distributed at the Nihon Budokan demonstrations. It is now available to overseas practitioners and enthusiasts. The text details 30 Koryu Bujutsu with hundreds of excellent and rare photographs. All of the names are in kanji with supplemental furigana (small hiragana) to ease pronunciation. "Notebook of Old School Martial Arts." An overview of koryu schools. Detailed with scans, prints of makimono, vintage photographs and pictorial demonstrations of kata. Filled with vital information of the schools and descriptions of the techniques.

"Outline of Old School Martial Art Methods." A very good outline of Koryu Bujutsu, with section by section articles on each aspect of koryu bujutsu. Including history, origins and photographs of individual techniques. The arts showcased are: kenjutsu, bojutsu, jotusu. kamajutsu, iaijutsu, juttejutsu, jujutsu and naginatajutsu.
